Jessica was able, after observing the two for some time, to come up with a crazy conclusion. Jessica wasn’t certain how this could have happened, but she knew it was obvious.
She waited a bit longer to be sure that the bears would not hurt her if they saw her. While she watched them, her anger and frustration towards him slowly diminished.
