Steve suddenly stopped walking and stood still. Jessica hid behind the bush in case Steve turned around, even though she assumed that he wouldn’t.
To her surprise, he did. He turned right towards her and she dived away quickly so that he wouldn’t notice her. She only looked up after a few moments.
She didn’t wish to lose him from her sight
