Tim Young, a fellow firefighter Liz had met in the diner, was also aware of their predicament and wanted to help. He came up with this idea after trying to find the best solution.

He wrote on the GoFundMe page: “Turns out, the young lady who gave us a free meal is the one that could use your support …”. The fundraiser had some way to go until it reached its $80,000 target. Tim hoped that he could help in a small way by sharing the GoFundMe site. He didn’t know how people would respond!
