Samantha was confused by the stark difference between Raven’s restlessness at night and his deep sleep the next morning on the couch. He was immobile. He seemed to be immobile. He showed his teeth when she tried to wake him up, as a warning that she had crossed the boundaries. She wondered how to care for and understand her mysterious companion.
