The letter
Jack vanished for good just a few short days after they spoke. He told Jessica that it was better not to look for him. “I wondered all these years if corrupt men had found him or not.”
Jessica confessed to her son. She received a letter about a month ago. She gave it to Adam. Jack wrote the letter. She didn’t want Adam to find out at first because it could reopen old hurts, but now that she has revealed the truth, things will change.
Closing the deal
Adam read the letter, and it was Jack telling Jessica that she should stop looking for him. He asked her if she could register him as deceased so that everyone would be at peace. He told her to tell Adam he loved Adam and that Adam had no other choice than to disappear.
Adam couldn’t believe it. Adam’s father is still alive. Her mother smiled at him and apologized to him for the secrecy. Adam understood now why his father had left him. Jack’s life was a relief to him.
