A complex man
Jessica sighed, and then went into her room to grab something. She had a letter with her when she returned. “He didn’t just lie to me. He also lied to me. He left us both. “I had always hoped that he would return but he won’t.”
Jessica said to Adam that Jack was a man who had always kept himself private. He was often between jobs, and would spend days away from home. He claimed he had been checking out job opportunities out of town. He would return with nothing to show for his efforts.
The Confrontation
Jessica was always curious about what Jack did, so she confronted him one day. Jack finally caved into their argument about Jack’s suspicious behaviour. He said he’s in a dangerous situation, and he couldn’t give Jessica the details.
Jessica was insistent about her need to be informed. Jessica needed to know if Jack was involved in anything dangerous. She needed to know where to look for him if something bad happened. Jack, however, insisted that she be kept in the dark.
