Sazan island
Sazan, a small island located off the coast of Albania, was once home to Soviet Whiskey class submarines. Since then, the island has been abandoned. It is a collection of old ships and tunnels. Albania seized it in 1968 after leaving the Warsaw Pact. The Soviets used the base to store chemical and biological weapons. It is clear that they have greatly increased their navy.
The submarines had become outdated by the time the 1990s arrived, so were neglected and abandoned with the base. You will only find a barren, deserted base in the middle of a beautiful landscape. It is not surprising that there are plans for it to become a tourist attraction in the future.
