This piqued the officers’ interest. Gabby noticed a change in the officers’ facial expressions as she told them about the strange sound coming from the grave. The men immediately began to ask her questions in various ways and came up with different hypotheses. As it turned out none of these predictions were correct.
Listening to the Sound
All of them were soaked and the ground was muddy due to the rain. Gabby heard the strange sound again and immediately told one of the officers. As they pressed their ears against the damp grass, they listened intently to each other. He also heard the sound but made a suggestion none of them thought of before.
