14. The Animal
Jack’s worst fears were confirmed as he moved deeper into the chicken coop. Jack’s beloved chickens had not survived the night.
He saw that the majority of the animals were not there, and those he did find were motionless, lying on the floor.
As he looked at the dead birds, a mixture of grief, shock and anxiety settled on his shoulders.
15. Jack Grieves
He loved his chickens. Jack was unable to resist his attachment to the chickens. He was saddened by what happened to them all.
The only good news was that most of them were absent, so they might be okay.
Even the loss of just a few birds made Jack very sad.
