Jack and Bonnie heard the girls talking enthusiastically in front of them.
Both were waiting with bated breathe, hoping that the excited chatter wouldn’t become something frightening-sounding. If they yelled loudly, the girls would hear it. But so would anything else.
Jack and Bonnie were running even faster as the egg field appeared on the horizon.
59. The Eggfield
In the darkness, Jack and Bonnie were chasing after their children as hot air pressed against them.
Bonnie told Jack, “I warned you that there was something wrong.” Jack did not respond to her anger and continued on until everyone caught up.
The egg field was a sight that everyone marveled at.
