50. Silly Folk Tales
Jack’s dad had repeatedly muttered “Silly Folk Tales” to himself after they discovered their livestock in tatters that morning. “That’s it.”
Jack had no idea what his father meant, but he was curious now. What lay beyond? Is there more to the world than meets the eye? Did…creatures…really exist?
Stop it,he yelled at himself. He could not afford to lose his mind. He would leave theatrics up to his girls.
51. The Girls Are Happy
At least, the girls seemed happy. They were happy to be a part of the farm. Before, they were too young to help. Jack was pleased to see that his daughters were so interested in the farming, despite the stressful circumstances.
One day they may want to run the farm themselves.
