Jack would have to find another solution if this was not a human-induced situation. So far, there was no one responsible. The mystery person (if there was one) who dumped the eggs had not yet been identified.

Jack did not know anyone with a grudge towards him in the town, so he was inclined think it was something, and not someone.
39. Buy a Tarp
The day was warm, but it would soon change. The hot sun of August made it difficult to imagine, but frost was on its way.
These eggs would not survive the fall weather.
Jack was afraid to move the tarps from their place, unsure of their fragility. He told Mary and Giselle, using his farm experience over the years, to go get black tarps in the barn.
