30. Eggs?
What if a voice in Jack’s brain said, slithering ominously through his mind, that these eggs are not ordinary? Mary ran up behind Jack, and he became agitated. He bent down to examine the eggs more closely.
Mary asked. “Whose eggs?” Mary asked.
She still held the cat Jack found under the tractor. Jack kneeled down and his expression changed to shock as he leaned his head near the white eggs.
31. The Fist
The eggs trembled and shook as if something was about be born. Jack, frustrated and terrified, drew his fist back.
He would smash the mystery egg and find out what was inside. He was tired of secrets and furious about his chickens and corn.
Giselle screamed “Dad! No!” Mary also cried. Jack stopped. Jack stopped.
