26. White Dots
His daughter shouted “Dad! The cornfield!” Giselle was shaking. Jack got back in the tractor, and drove over Mary and the cat. He bit his lips, hoping that his cornfield had not gone the same way as his chickens.
He realized that the field was not only arid, but also stricken with fear. Giselle pointed out clusters of dots in the midst of the dried stalks. Jack ran off the tractor.
He was surprised when he realized what the “dots”, or dots, were.
27. What is going on?
“What’s this …” Jack asked himself. In its place, eggs were scattered across the field. Dozens of eggs. What was happening? Where was the corn located? Where were the chickens?
Who or what did this?
Jack couldn’t even count the eggs. Jack was certain that he had not missed the situation. He is a farmer who pays attention to everything on his farm. This could not have happened under his nose.
