20. It Stopped
Jack spun around to try and locate the sound. He knew that the source of this sound was close by, but couldn’t pinpoint where exactly. He was willing bets that the wailer had damaged his coop.
Just as before, they stopped crying. Jack surveyed the area before him and left the pigs in their place. Nothing.
He went to the second barn in his yard to retrieve his tractor, not knowing what to do.
21. Ol’ Reliable
Jack called his tractor Ol’ Reliable. His tractor was big, green and mean. It had seen Jack through many seasons. Although people thought spring and fall was “farming seasons,” farming is a job which never stops.
Locals were familiar with Jack on his tractor. Heck, it would’ve been alarming if Jack was not.
Jack was relieved when he saw Ol’ Reliable in the barn. It was good to know that his tractor had no problems.
