Into the Pipe
Dave sprinted past the firefighters, and dived into the dimly-lit pipeline. He was filled with adrenaline, fear, and exhilaration. He could hear firemen yelling at him to turn. The sewer was dark and damp, and the smell was overpowering. Dave felt the slimy walls and water up to his knees as he moved. The faint light of the escape was visible in the distance but seemed to be so far.

Dave could feel slime on his body as the walls of the sewer had a thick coating of dirt and grime. He could hear rats scrambling around him and felt the damp, cold air on his skin. Dave felt the current push against him while he was moving forward. The water, which was murky with debris, had a strong current. He could see the odd rat swimming around in the water and could feel the slimy stones under his feet.
