No one wanted to go into the pipe
After the sewer was revealed, the adventure didn’t end. Now that the adventure was over, someone had to descend. Dave looked around. The enthusiasm of the people to help seemed quickly to fade. Some observers seemed to be interested in the situation, while others kept their distance. Dave trembled as he looked into the black, long and deep pipeline.
Dave heard the firefighters discussing the best course of action. As if he were a member of the team, he felt a responsibility to assist them. He listened attentively to the discussion of the possible risks and rewards associated with the mission. He was surprised that he felt a sense pride for having solved the mystery of the sewer. He felt like he owned the situation. He wanted to assist the firefighters in any way that he could. He was determined to complete the mission.
