The Fire Department was Called
Dave called the fire department. He made up an imaginary story about animals that lived in the sewers. He was not sure in reality but thought that making it sound urgent would help the fire department arrive much quicker. Dave’s phone call was answered quickly by the fire department. The fire department was equipped with all the tools necessary to investigate the situation. They began searching for signs of life in the sewers.
Firemen quickly realized that Dave had made up his story about animals stuck in sewers. He had no idea of what was below. Dave was arrested for questioning because the firemen didn’t appreciate him lying. Dave felt embarrassed, but still maintained that it was necessary to get the firefighters there quickly. If they hadn’t, then something even worse could have happened and the authorities would not be able stop it in time.
