It Refused to Budge
Behind him, a local owner appeared wielding a tool that looked like a crowbar. In a matter of minutes, four men had gathered and were each holding a metal sprocket from an object nearby. The cover would not move, despite Dave’s and the other guys’ efforts. Was anyone able to complete this? Four men worked together in order to pry open the cover. Each man took it in turns to push and pull with all of their strength. As they struggled, sweat dripped down their faces. Dave, the owner of the business, was the most determined member of the group. He was determined to open the cover, no matter what.
They worked for several minutes but the cover would not move. The men took a short break to regroup and catch their breath. They tried again pushing and pulling, but this time in different directions. The men groaned and groaned while they used all their strength to move the cover. The cover would not move. As they realized their efforts had been in vain, frustration began to set it. They were tired and their muscles ached from the strain. The men took a moment to regroup and rest, but the cover did not move. Dave suggested that they try another approach, but all the men were too exhausted to cooperate.
