On the way
Jamie and Ben sat together in the car. Both were so quiet, and they felt awkward around each other. On their way to Stacy, Lauren and themselves, they drove through the city. Jamie couldn’t stop thinking how strange this was. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The picture with the man and his wife, lying on his face, then disappearing in the night. How could this have happened to him?
After driving around the town for more than twenty minutes, Jamie finally asked Ben: “Do you really know the right route?” “Yes, don’t worry. Ben replied, “I know exactly where I’m going.” “But how?” Jamie asked. How do you know their location if you have never taken action on your suspicions?
He was forced to wait
Ben took a brief pause. He felt helpless. He didn’t anticipate such a response from his friend. Obviously, friends do not do acts as such. Ben was surprised to learn that Jamie still had not returned his trust after the interrogation.
“I can’t explain it, Jamie. Jamie was not happy with that answer. This kind of answer has been his biggest pet peeve. He sat there, not knowing what was going on behind him or where they were headed. He felt helpless, as if everyone knew a secret and he didn’t. Jamie became more and more angry as he thought more about the situation.
