Drinking beer
Jamie decided that he would rather have fun with Ben than tell him about his problems. He didn’t want to reveal that he was at his house the day before. The two of them had some beer and Vietnamese spring rolls, having fun as they used to and celebrating his achievements as a veteran. They had another round of nuts and beers, and then continued to chat.
Jamie’s worries grew more intense as time went on. He finally did. Jamie finally could no longer hold back his emotions. He was on the verge of bursting but stopped himself. He had to be honest. Jokingly, Ben was told that he went into his home without his knowledge because he believed his wife was cheating. Ben looked shocked and paused a moment.
Ben would be able to help him
Jamie was immediately forgiven for having suspected him. It wasn’t just a sign of friendship and loyalty that he did it without hesitation. He did not share Jamie’s suspicion but he told him about the changes he had seen in his wife over the years. He told Jamie that he’d help him to find out the truth and said he knew how to find her.
Jamie was happy that Ben didn’t hate him. He was reassured by the fact that he had also seen Stacy’s change. He wondered, however, how his friend could know exactly where to look to find his daughter and wife. How could he possibly know where they were? Was he involved? Was it a mere coincidence? He was filled with so many crazy thoughts.
