Home Again
Jamie was able to forget all his troubles when he returned home. He had missed it all! The house was still the same, even though many things had changed. It still smelled nostalgic and felt the same. He had lunch with his family and then went to bed for a nap. When he woke several hours later the house was empty.
Jamie, confused and still a little sleepy at the time, called his daughter to snuggle. When she didn’t, he became worried. He searched his entire home, but found no trace of them. What could they be doing? He didn’t want anger to set in just yet. He decided to go outside. Jamie looked around as he stepped into the morning cold. He could only see the trees moving in the wind. He was about give up when he heard faint giggles coming from nearby woods.
Where have they gone?
Jamie searched the house for his wife and daughter. He was blaming his jetlag for sleeping longer than he wanted. He was still getting used to the new time after a long flight. He assumed they had told him earlier where they were heading, but he forgot. He searched in the kitchen, living room and bedrooms but found no trace of them.
He began to worry, but knew that he would soon find out. He checked the backyard and there they were. His wife was reading a book in a chair while his daughter played in the sandbox. He walked to them and smiled, happy to have located them.
