Hugging It Out
When Jamie finally appeared, he immediately forgot all of his worries. They hugged for a few minutes. Lauren was much bigger, but her eyes were still the same. Jamie asked Stacy, who dropped them off. She didn’t know that Jamie had already seen them. Jamie was getting closer to finding out the truth but didn’t want pressurize the matter.
He was happy to see his family again. Jamie’s reunion with his family was bittersweet as he was reminded how much time he missed. Jamie was determined to make amends for all the milestones Lauren had missed. Lauren happily told him all about her schooling and life. Jamie was very proud of Lauren and what she had achieved. Stacy was also thanked for caring so well for Lauren while he travelled. She smiled at him as he thanked her.
She is not trustworthy
Jamie realized Stacy was a liar. What should he then do? He just came out of a warzone and didn’t want a new one. He decided not to confront her yet, and instead asked his family and friends what had happened during his absence. He hoped that he could trust them even though he hadn’t seen them in so long.
Jamie’s daughter was able to sense tension in the cab. She asked him to tell her stories of his adventures. Jamie knew that he could not tell her all. He chose to tell her small stories about his co-workers and food. He told her the story of the time that he, his colleagues and a waiter went to dinner. The waiter served a large plate of nachos. Jamie’s little girl was the most eager to dig in.
