Home
They all left the house as soon as they reached Jamie and Stacy’s. Ben, who had been with the family, left, leaving Lauren and the three children alone. Lauren went straight to her bedroom when they entered the house. She knew her parents would have a serious discussion. Jamie and Stacy both were worried about their daughter.
They wanted to ensure that she was safe. They asked her many questions and wanted to be sure that she was being truthful. They knew what happened because they had heard stories. They wanted to know the truth. They asked what happened. Lauren hesitated to answer.
She apologized
Jamie and Stacy just sat on the couch, staring at each other. Jamie hugged Stacy when she started to cry. It only made Stacy cry more. Jamie felt that there was something worse going on as he sat with her. Stacy wept, “I’m sorry, Jamie. I really am”. Stacy apologized for not telling Jamie earlier. She said she didn’t wish to disturb him when he was at work.
Jamie was still unsure of what she was saying, but it was obvious that Jamie was talking about something intense. She was absolutely perplexed. She didn’t know what the woman meant, but she knew it was important. The words were jumbled, and she couldn’t make them out. As she struggled to understand the woman’s words, she felt frustrated and confused.
