Lauren came in
He felt Lauren’s sadness and wanted to make her smile. He wanted to make her happy and take away her sadness. He wanted to be the one who made her smile, but knew it wasn’t going to happen. He was afraid to approach her so he stood and watched as they embraced.
As he watched them, he felt a pang. He wished that he had a similar connection with someone. He wanted to feel comfortable sharing his emotions and being comforted by others when he felt down. He wanted to have someone listen to him and understand his feelings. He wanted to know that he could trust someone, and they would always be there for him.
Lauren sat next to Stacy.
He was now filled with many questions and worried about his wife. What happened to her, then? Lauren’s question suggests that it has happened more than once. What was happening? Was she ill? Stacy was still a concern, but one very important question remains unanswered. Who is this balding man?
Jamie knew Lauren was tired after sitting for what seemed like hours. He knew he wanted to help but didn’t know how. Lauren was now sitting on the couch. She sat next to her mom, waiting for her mother to awaken. She never looked away from her mother except for a few glances at Jamie. Jamie was horrified to see the way his wife and daughter were treated. They were the two people that he loved most in the entire world.
