Another Case
In Oregon, USA, something similar occurred halfway around the world. Detroit Lake is created by the Detroit Dam, which is located on the North Santiam River. The lake is a source of water for Salem and a source of intrigue each autumn.
Every year, at the end of the summer, the lake is mostly dried up, leaving a grassy and cracked surface. This brings the locals to the mountains of Marion County in large numbers. The lake’s barren, grassy surface is not what they are looking for, but it’s close.
Attraction
Travellers pull off Route 22 in the fall, usually between October and January. They are hoping to see a bit of history. A piece of the rich past of the region, jutting out of the ground like a group of two-footed soldiers.
Tree stumps are scattered throughout the landscape. They create an eerie feeling, as they represent remnants of the past. You won’t find the familiar bark on a stump, but rather a thick and bloated stump from the depths Detroit Lake.
